T-Rex - 9/5/11

For our special big dinner out we chose to take the boys to T-Rex in Downtown Disney. They seemed to enjoy the dinosaurs moving and the rainstorms, etc, but will probably enjoy everything even more once they are a little bit older. The food was great though, so none of the parents were complaining!

Mimi & Grampy - 9/5/11

For the week of Labor Day the 3 of us went down to Orlando for vacation. Josh, Courtney, and CJ joined us for most of the week, and we all had a really fun time! One day we all went to visit Mimi & Grampy in Beverly Hills. It was a short visit for the afternoon, but it was good to see them. They were able to meet the boys last year when they were both still infants, so the boys were quite the entertainers getting into everything this visit!

Vitamins

So Jared's new favorite "snack" is his Flinstones vitamin. They are gummy, so this is apparently a funny texture for him to chew. Watch as he swallows the whole thing in one bite, and then enjoy listening to his ever expanding vocabulary!

Park - 8/21/11

Just another picnic trip to the park. Turns out Jared likes to throw lefty. We'll see how this works out. He hasn't really shown preference with anything else.

Splash Pad - 8/20/11

Well since the Splash Pad was such a hit with Jared when Andrew took him we decided to bring him again before it closed for the season on August 21st. Next year we are hoping to be able to get a Y membership so Jared can take swim lessons and enjoy the Splash Pad and playground more.
Grumpy went with us to the Splash Pad this time, and Jared enjoyed standing under the buckets with Grumpy. We think Grumpy got more wet than Jared!

Monkey Joe's - 8/13/11

While we were still in the middle of high 90s to 100 degree weather we decided to treat Jared to an indoor park one Saturday. He loves going to the park and playing outside, but after about 20 or 30 minutes its just too hot. At Monkey Joe's Jared was able to play for several hours and still not break a sweat in the air conditioning! One of his favorite parts was the car rides (see "Batmobile" below) behind all the slides. By the end Jared was mostly climbing up on his own to go down the slides. He was quite afraid of Monkey Joe himself though (the huge blowup purple monkey below). Jared still talks about Monkey Joes now several weeks later!

Splash Pad w/ Andrew

Since Jared stays at Aunt Beth's house while Kate and Jon work, he's obviously spent a lot of time with his big cousin Andrew. Before leaving for Navy boot camp earlier this month Andrew took Jared to play at the local YMCA Splash Pad. Jared loved it as you can see! Our thoughts and prayers are with Andrew as he is undergoing training away from home for the first time.
